about me :-)
Hi, I'm Rich. I've enjoyed taking photos for most of my life and find joy in shooting a wide range subjects.
Growing up, my first camera was a Kodak INSTAMATIC film point and shoot, the kind with the square flash cube on top. I'm not sure what happened to it, but I do remember using it well into my college years.
After graduation in the early 1980's, I received my first film SLR from my fiancée, a Nikon FM2. It was then that the photography bug really bit me! It had manual focus and to get the exposure right there were two needles in the viewfinder that you had to match up by adjusting the aperture and shutter speed.
I became the unofficial family photographer and there was lots of opportunities for me to practice as my wife & I had kids and my 5 brothers & sisters started their families as well. So many memories ...
In 2005, I decided it was time to look at Digital Cameras. After doing a bunch of research, it looked like for what I could spend a Canon Rebel XT would be the best choice for me, even though, sadly, it meant abandoning my Nikon and the few lenses I had gotten for it and starting anew with Canon products. After moving up the Rebel ,line a couple of times, I just bought a mirrorless Canon R6. No looking back now (unless it's a selfie).
